And to be honest, Dream doesn’t know why out of all the people he could’ve picked he picked someone like that, but then he remembered how much he loved just being around George.
And he knew he had to do something about it, real fucking fast too because it seemed as if George was slipping from his grip.

George asks Karl on a date for a bet. That's it, just a bet his friends have running on if Karl really does like dudes or not. He isn't meant to actually go on the date, and he's definitely not meant to actually catch feelings for Karl. In the end, all it takes is a single week for his entire world to turn around.

Yeah, George’s friends didn’t like gay people very much. George himself didn’t like gay people very much, or he was trying very hard not to at least. The burning in his arm where Karl’s touched him could be disgust if he tried very hard to convince himself it was.
“I’m sorry,” Karl said, soft and genuine, and George forced himself to look back at him. His clear gray eyes were wide and watery, compassionate enough to hurt, and George’s stomach compressed in on itself. Karl spoke carefully, choosing every word like a picky eater dancing around broccoli on a dinner plate. Delicate and harmful. “That’s awful. I’m sorry, it’s hard to not be yourself around your friends.”
George wasn’t gay. He was himself around his friends. He muttered a quiet “it’s okay” despite this.

Dream immediately goes to start apologizing and to help him up. “Oh sorry! I didn’t see you, if I did I wouldn’t have landed here,” Dream reaches a hand down to help up the poor guy on the ground. The man repositions the flower pot he was holding and accepts Dream’s hand. Dream pulls him up, dusting the man's shoulders off. "Again, sorry about that…?”

Now, George wasn’t against parties...But there was one thing that bothered him, random people were always trying to get on his good side. Whether it be by trying to flirt him up and/or woo him. Not because they liked him and wanted to be his friend or anything, not at all, but for his reputation since he was student council president. It was annoying, to say the least. And right now, he had an overly nice guy bothering him, and even though it was clear he only wanted to be friends, George didn't. George was trying to figure out how to get rid of this guy when he caught a glimpse of his ex, Dream. Now, no one had known they’d broken up, and they were on relatively good terms...So logically, he ran up to Dream and flung his arms around his neck, “Babe!” Dream knew George would never do anything without a reason, even if the reason was really, really dumb...Dream wrapped his arms around George and smiled, “Hey baby.”
