Here we go, here we go, here we go.
This starts off quite political as we are still in Berlin, and I found it fascinating to research (politics graduate here, long time ago now) so I hope people stick with it.

    Summary

Since 2007 I have thought about crossovers between the Marlows, Walkers, Marchwoods, Maitlands, and other families who were set in that period between the wars, and whose 'lives' may have continued after the second world war, by writers such as Dorita Fairlie Bruce, Elsie J. Oxenham, Arthur Ransome and Antonia Forest. The fanfiction work "Roger and the Marlows" by constantlearner showed that others had the same idea! I took that work as huge inspiration for this brief moment, and hope that the author accepts my gratitude and appreciation of that work, and this brief imagined moment within the life of Roger Walker and the Marlows.

    Summary

Ralph Lanyon ends a two-year experiment, and Alec Deacon begins one.

Written to Naraht's prompt 'Ralph Lanyon / Alec Deacon: experiment?'

Content advisory: strong language including misogynistic slurs, sexism, internalised homophobia, hostility to effeminacy, and an anti-Semitic remark.

I have come to think of the personnel of The Charioteer and the Marlows series as belonging to the same world; my apologies for a crossover. The Antonia Forest characters can (I think) safely be read by those who do not know the Marlow books as OCs for the purposes of this fic.

    Summary

A study in the profound emotional obtuseness of the English upper-middle-class/squirearchy, or what Giles Marlow thinks is the right thing to do may sometimes turn out to be the wrong thing to do.

As a post-canon story, this contains a smattering of spoilers, most notably for The Thuggery Affair and Run Away Home.

Content advisory: inexplicit reference to sex between a character aged 17 and one aged 6 or so years older; minor character death, as the delayed result of a canonical suicide attempt.
