The demands of national defence in times of war have a way of bringing unlikely people together for common purposes. Or, Blake is recruited for a mission outside of his usual duties, alongside a soldier he has rather literally just met.

    Summary

    Summary

    Summary

I spent ten months writing Erik, a novel-length piece that emerged from darkrogue's excellent Project Faust series. As I wrote it became both a look at what reincarnation would be if one's memories were intact, and an exercise in wishful thinking. Erik leaves the de-aged Colonel Olrik resolved to learn from past mistakes and make a few new ones as he attempts to live within society and use laws and conventions to benefit himself. Naturally, I kept thinking about the future beyond the story, and the result is a series of snippets, mostly fluff.

    Summary

This is a continuation of What Goes Around, which was itself inspired by the Project Faust series. What we have here is a fanfic of a fanfic with an age regression theme. "Ivan Ostrovsky" (the former Colonel Olrik) has undergone the Sato rejuvenation process and finds himself in a ridiculous situation. This won't be too much of a "cute kid" fit, because Olrik was never one of those, but I want to explore second chances, nature vs. nurture, and the mind body connection in my own silly way.

Big thanks to darkrogue1 (Lily_Haydee_Lohdisse) for support, inspiration, and beta reading. I appreciate you!

EDIT: What was originally a short story is turning out to be a short novel that I'm writing for... maybe three people? If you're one of the three, feel free to ask for a specific shout out in the comments. I'm already adding a few. (-:

EDIT: This turned out not to be a *short* novel at all, but now it's done and I'll probably revise and cut some fat at a future date. A note on the chronology: obviously I've made up a lot of details about places and events. There is no Parthenon, Redwing Building or Silver Birch Academy, but they're based on real places. Movies, concerts, moon phases, etc.? All real.

    Summary

    Summary

The summer months were often a confusing time for Captain Blake and Professor Mortimer. It was a time, just like any other in the year, when things could 'come up', but for the most part nothing particularly special occurred, and both men simply went about their daily routines, although with far fewer layers on.
