Summary
Saving the Dafan Mountain Wen wasn't necessarily the best idea he'd had ever had, but it wasn't the worst either. To be honest, it was a lot better than the original plan (and a lot less reckless too). It'd do nothing to help him stay in his father's good graces, but it wouldn't do anything to make it better either. He was sure he could handle whatever punishment would be given should he be found out.
Let the world fade, and let it die.
Let the villain's scream, and the heroes fall from the sky.
Light it all on fire, give your soul what it desires.

Wei Wuxian moved to Lotus Pier a while ago after his parents died from the rural village of Yiling where he grew up. He left in search of answers, looking for himself.
He came back without finding them.
In Yiling, one can do nothing but cook, farm, and reminisce, and that's exactly what he does.A modern AU based off the Korean and Japanese films of Little Forest, slightly angsty, slightly fluffy, filled with cooking, mud, lots of lotus root and soup, and searching for that sense of belonging you need to live happily.

“I was thinking a bit on my way here,” Lan Xichen said suddenly, grabbing everyone’s attention. “I know that the Yiling Patriarch is said to be so evil and heartless, but...I haven’t heard of anything he’s done since the Jin Slaughter 13 years ago, maybe-”
“Xichen!” The rest of the crew jumped, unused to hearing Lan Wangji raise his voice. In fact, they could probably count the amount of times the captain had raised his voice on one hand. Lan Xichen’s eyes widened, seeing the cold expression on his brother's face.
“We have no time for sympathy. Go up and tell the juniors the plan and get those thoughts out of your head.” Lan Wangji stated coldly, his expression stoney and hard. Lan Xichen blinked in surprise and stood, giving the man a small, curt bow.
“Forgive me Wangji, that was out of place. I will go alert the juniors.” With that, Lan Xichen left, his footsteps trailing off into nothingness as he grew further away. Lan Wangji paid no mind to the looks his crew was giving him, simply standing up and making his way to his personal courters and trying to ignore the sour taste in his mouth.
He knew he was right, he had no choice but to be right.
