Summary
“I like this dress,” Cameron says. She bunches the fabric up near Donna’s waist, a dark yellow that looks brighter against her skin and somehow doesn’t wash her out, dotted with tiny sunflowers Donna was fond of when she bought it. It’s a cute dress. She doesn’t know why it’s making her feel ridiculous right now, a sunny contrast to how Cameron’s dressed like they aren’t in California.

Summary
Donna could move over, should, even, but she doesn’t. Their bare shoulders are pressed together, and it’s… oddly nice. She and Gordon are… well, not in any better place than they were in Texas, actually. And Joanie is in a phase where she thinks she’s too old for hugs and snuggles. Haley’s not far behind. And Donna is a little more touch-starved than she realized, apparently, if Cameron’s shoulders are doing it for her right now.

Summary
Technically, it's Donna’s idea.
Like some ideas, it started as a small spark, an almost missable detail that was nothing more than a beat, a flicker. She didn’t imagine what it could have amounted to… and what possibilities this could have opened for her, and for Cameron.
Or,
Cameron and Donna navigate Mutiny life and explore various forms of bondage together. -

Summary
“At least 0.4%,” Donna says and she’s smiling, like she thinks she’s funny, like she thinks they’re friends. They’re not friends. “You need to stop thinking,” Donna moves on. She stalks towards her, she walks weirdly, Cameron’s never been able to describe it. She feels like she’s being hunted, but that’s too dramatic. Donna is kind and Donna is brilliant, but Cameron’s heard more about her than Donna knows. Donna saved 93.6% of her code but Cameron isn’t about to start acting like she owes her something.

Summary
“Can you look after the kids today?” Donna stood at the stove, body twisted like a mis-grown tree towards Cameron. Her hands framed her hips, her shirt bearing the soup-splotch of dinner.
“Sure,” Cameron said, a handful of popcorn shoveled around the word. Donna eyed the popcorn, the soup, the stain on her shirt. “You are paying me for it, though, right?”

"I still dream about you time and time again
While I've been sleeping in somebody else's bed
And as my body aged
The feeling, it never did"
- Morbid Stuff, by PUPSixteen years after best friends Catherine Howe and Donna Emerson were forced to separate when Donna's family moved to San Francisco, and left a now broken-hearted Cameron to navigate the hardest part of her life alone. Even all these years later, Cameron, who's trying to salvage a crumbling relationship with brilliant entrepreneur Joseph MacMillan, still dreams about having her best friend back. When it seems like what's left of Cameron's life is heading down the drain, she runs into Donna once again, and the memories of tweenhood come rolling back, as well as uncertainties that threaten to break Cameron entirely.

Summary
“What, you’re gonna tell me that you’ve completely moved on?” Donna asks.
“No,” Cameron grits out. “I think about me and you every day.” A truth but one that seems to unsettle Donna. “And it makes me furious.”
Donna pushes her hair back and sighs, “So let’s fix it. I want to fix it.”
Cameron laughs, bitter. “I don’t.”

Summary
“That’s what you sleep in?” Cameron asks, waving her hand in the direction of Donna. Her face is already pressed back against her pillow and her eyes are slipping closed. Donna looks down at her outfit, polka dot patterned pyjama pants and a plain black t-shirt, and sighs. “I thought you’d wear something - skimpier,” Cameron continues and Donna is pretty sure she’s mostly asleep when she talks next, “Like pyjamas that people say are pyjamas but we all know is actually lingerie.”
“That’s what you picture me in?” Donna presses.

Summary
“When did you realize you were gay?” Haley asks.
Cameron nearly hits her head on the bed frame they’re trying to build. Donna would be better at this, but she’s on a business trip, somewhere in New York doing interviews about how great Phoenix could be. Cameron would much rather be here, in Haley’s bedroom with the windows open because it’s warming up again, the sun shining through the blinds.
“I’m not gay,” Cameron says, slowly. She doesn’t know the protocol here. They all assumed, but Haley hasn’t told them yet and Donna is the one who read all the books about what to do when your kid is gay.

Summary
Cameron really doesn’t want to fuck this up again. She was being honest when she said that working with Donna was the most fun she’s ever had, that she’s Cameron’s anchor, best partner, knows her brain and the way it works inside and out, and still wants her around. Again. After everything, they both still want to do this all over again.
That has to mean something monumental. Cameron can’t go on and fuck it up just because Donna is the hottest woman she’s ever known, and she keeps thinking about what it would feel like to press her down into a bed and kiss every inch of her skin.
