“Jace,” says a grizzly voice. Familiar. Loke snaps his head in its direction. Blood drips down his face.
He blubbers out a word, captain, and then promptly throws up. Hot vomit all over his chainmail gloves. On trembling legs, Loke stands upright, shudders when there’s a crude crunch, of bone snapping underfoot. Somebody takes his hand and guides his fingers around the leather handle of a shield.
“Boy... we won,” his captain informs him, breathing haggard, and then the sound of spitting.
Something sinks down Loke’s stomach. This doesn’t feel like victory. Just hurt. The captain tells him that they lost magister Yasmin and magister Iowain, that him and magister Isolde are getting reinforcements. He wants to cry when the captain advises him to hide between the crates, behind the cart, but he can't. Not anymore.

After the aftermath of their travels toward Divinity, Fane and Lohse decide to travel the world of Rivallon, so he might study and she can entertain. Things do not go as planned as Fane is struggling with accepting Lohse's mortality, has a mad daughter on the loose and Lohse owes Malady a huge favour.
From study to adventure, their lives do not turn out as quietly as they had hoped.

While the individual parts are based on the events of and quests within the game, they are also my personal interpretation of those events, characters, and relationships. The chapters here do not necessarily follow the order of events in the game.
