Rusty has not done one suspicious thing since he entered New York, other than being Rusty Ryan (and asking Neal to forge paintings for him, but Peter does not know that, so it does not count), and so Neal did not hide any criminals in his loft. Technically.
Well, it's not the first time, at any rate. (That would probably only make it worse, if Peter knew about it, but he's never confronted Neal about the whole honor among thieves code before, and Neal doubts he'll start now.)

“Lou,” Debbie spoke seriously. “What if we didn’t have to choose?”
“Choose what?” Lou asked, eyebrow raised. She placed the magazine on her lap, a finger still between the pages allowing her the smallest of escapes just in case.
“Between retiring and running jobs,” Debbie smirked. “Ever thought about running the long con?” Debbie asked with a knowing smile.
The blonde removed her finger from the magazine and closed it against her lap.
“I’m listening,” Lou sighed with a smile, blue eyes twinkling

Where had she gone wrong? Sure, there was blame enough for them to each take a slice or five, but Debbie was the one who left. The one who ran. No matter how many issues they’d had or problems they’d cooked up, Debbie hadn’t even given them a fighting chance to survive. She had left. Left Lou standing in the doorway with her mouth gaping open. Debbie still wasn’t sure if it was shock or hurt.
Lou’s stunned face swam to the surface of Debbie’s brain and she shivered. Eyes watering, lip quivering, mouth in a perfect “O” shape. She had expected angry, pursed lips, and baby blues blazing with anger or hate. Lou’s hands balled into fists or firm on her hips. But her arms hung limp at her sides. Her eyes, sad and defeated, and Debbie couldn’t know if she was imagining it…the desperate and defeated eyes that seemed to beg: don’t go.
She felt something catch in her throat, her lungs gasping for air. There was more. More. More in Lou’s eyes. More in that hurt. What had she missed? What had she abandoned?
