Akira opened his eyes a little and stirred slightly as he felt himself being gently shaken awake. He had been more or less sleeping on his side the entire ride back from the battle.
“Hey, we’re home now.” He heard Ryo’s soft, quiet voice speak to him. Akira opened his eyes some more and through blurry vision, he saw a familiar face up close to his. As his vision cleared, Ryo’s facial features became more defined. His sense of smell came back as well as he caught the scent of Ryo’s familiar aftershave. He blinked and stirred from his sleep, clearly tired from the fight that he had just fought only an hour or so ago.

Summary
Ryo pulled the Bel-Air up to the back of the school where in the distance he could see Akira standing and waiting for him. This was the first time in several days that he got to pick Akira up instead of him going home with Miki. He drove up to the sidewalk and shifted the throttle to “Park” just as Akira open the rear door behind the passenger side to toss his backpack in the backseat. Akira then turned to open the passenger door and fell into the seat while shutting the door.
Akira’s attitude was the first thing that Ryo noticed: the teenager appeared to be… out of it. He looked more somber than Ryo has ever seen him and he was quiet, which was not like him at all. Ryo shifted the throttle to the “Drive” slot and drove away from the school to get on the highway.

Akira was lying on the sofa scrolling through social media on his phone. He was at Ryo’s house for the weekend; the Makimuras were away visiting family. Ryo was only a few feet away in his office, typing away at his three computers and working on his hacking assignment. The house was quiet, but not like an uncomfortable silence.
Although Akira appeared to be relaxed, bored even, as he scrolled through post after post, something actually irked him and had been for the past several days.
