Summary
What if the encounter with Elizabeth and The Creature went very differently? What if a bargain was struck?
An indulgent "What if" where Elizabeth is not entirely happy with the life that was laid out for her and after she agrees to be the creature's bride, she and her new "husband" begin to see things in each other that pull them close together.
Chapter 1-12 updated with a new scene added to chapter 4. Ch 8 has been polished and the tone changed a bit. Chapter 12 has been nearly completely rewritten Expanded on Elizabeth's inner turmoil. Other chapters to follow, some chapters may be re-written entirely. It won't be too different but I feel like the story needs some ironing out and there are some elements that need to be expanded on. Feedback is welcome!

Summary
I no longer claim to know why Victor said that I died that night. I believed once that I knew him, likely better than anyone in the world, but after that night we became strangers to each other in a way that we could not repair. Did he believe he was shielding his father and brother from a greater horror? Was it truly easier to face the notion of me dead, than me lost to him? Better a martyr, perhaps, than a saint defiled.

Summary
Victor speaks of me too kindly. I know this. He paints me as a saint because it is easier for him, I think. He imagines that he can make for himself a childhood that was innocent and guiltless, myself an angel found in humility.
It is not true, of course.

Summary
When he escaped, he felt it in his bones, in his stark-beating heart that he was meant to follow this path. The sensation was familiar, like that of his creator, but it was softer, less vicious. Welcoming. Wherever he was traveling, he knew he’d be welcomed there, and that hope of humanity pressed him onward through the storm.
He found a much more charming presence than expected.

Summary
Elizabeth’s belly is only a little bigger, a little rounder. But the skin is taut, pulled stiff like a painter’s canvas. It serves as an endless fascination for Victor, but even more so for Adam – his Creature. Their Creature. Their Man, made for them, by them.

Summary
That black mouth of his quirks upwards again. “Let no one say I am so inhuman I would not accept,” he says. A rough, cold hand goes to the side of her face. “With grave aspect he rose, and in his rising seemed a pillar of state; deep on his front engraven deliberation sat and public care; and princely counsel in his face yet shone, majestic though in ruin: sage he stood, with Atlantean shoulders, fit to bear, the weight of mightiest monarchies; his look drew audience and attention still as night or summer's noontide air,” he recites, putting feeling in it, and it feels as if it came straight from his soul, as if he feels what those words mean right to his core, and no, there is nothing inhuman in it now, is it?
What has Victor done? How is his fiend someone who can understand those words so deeply and so strongly?
