It’s been two weeks since they met and Clyde has spent every day visiting Stensland at his little house that he’s borrowed. He can’t remember ever having a nicer time than he does laid on the grass while Stensland reaches him to kiss like the humans do. Clyde likes it, this smushing of lips makes him tingle in that fun, exciting way that usually ends with him having to relieve himself in the safety of his den.
Today he’s decided to ask Stensland if he wants to do it.

In which Clyde meets a horse that is maybe not-a-horse and get's confused about it.
The sound that does make him turn to look, however, are the approaching hoofbeats that sound out among the trees halfway through dinner. There’s no creaking or clinking of tack but he still lays a hand on his colt and puts his back to a tree, you can never be too safe. What - or should he say who - appears in the circle of flickering light around his modest fire makes him look twice, then a third time.
It’s that damn stallion.
It has to be the same horse because he’s finding it hard to believe that West Virginia has suddenly become ripe with tame, chestnut stallions that like to seek out human contact just for the fun of it.

Clyde is aware of the phenomenon of unsolicited pictures of the risqué sort, mostly because Mellie gets them and complains about it to him. Her rants always end with her stating in no uncertain terms that if Clyde were to become like those men he would be disowned. He tells her not to worry because he doesn’t understand why anyone would send strangers on the internet a picture of their genitals.
Until a man called Stensland sends him a picture of his and Clyde's eyes are opened to the world of nudes.

The first time Clyde meets Stensland he’s crying. He’s been on his own so far in this sad, grey, cinder block cell so the introduction of a cellmate would likely happen eventually, he knew that. What he wasn’t prepared for was that cellmate being a tall ginger with snot dripping down his chin and wet, bloodshot eyes. So far he’s been lucky in this cauliflower scheme of Jimmy’s, now he gets the feeling that that luck might be coming to an end with the arrival of his new cellmate.
Or the one in which Stensland ends up in prison with Clyde and they slow burn their way to heaven.
