Fueled with self-hatred, regret, and guilt, Spinel leaves Homeworld for Earth. She doesn’t know what she wants, or what she’s looking for, but she believes Homeworld can’t provide it. However, with it being only a few weeks after Steven’s meltdown, she’s certain trying to settle in on Earth won't be as easy as it once was. Especially for her, considering her history with Earth. Regardless of whether Spinel is welcomed on Earth or not, her problems will follow her. And she may soon find that, wherever she goes, whatever she decides to do, she has new problems waiting for her. New trials and tribulations she must overcome, from new and old friends. Wherever she goes, whatever she decides to do, Spinel must remember one thing. She has a long road ahead.

The matriarchs of the Diamond Authority were each glorious and venerable. Not a single one was anything less than flawless and perfect, especially in the eyes of those who served them. White, Yellow, and Blue each exuded power and commanded respect. They each were deserving of praise and admiration, yet in the eyes of one gem there was one Diamond that stood out from the rest. Out of the four exalted Radiances, there was only one that went out of her way to appreciate and spend time with those under her. There was only one that wanted what was best for those under her… There was only one that could be called… the Symbol of Hope.

"He hasn't called us in months! You keep telling us to give him time; that he’ll return home, but he just hasn’t. Not to mention, he seems to be getting worse every time I go to see him." Pearl frantically ranted at the gem on the other side of the communicator. "I keep trying to make him talk but nothing works! I'm so tired. I don't know what else to do!" The other gem continued preparing lunch as the pale gem continued her rant.
"Even if he just speaks briefly to you, it would be way more than he had told us in years! Please, you have to do something! If anyone could understand his situation, it’d be you!" Pearl pleaded with the gem, but she remained unresponsive.
The gem packed the pair of sandwiches and some water bottles on the paper bag, along with a piece of paper.
"It’s been so long since he..." Pearl was interrupted.
"I'll be late." The gem said as she turned off the communicator. "Well, it's not like Steven is going anywhere..."
