Summary
“You need to talk to him,” Dolores had hissed over breakfast. “He’s not going to come to you first. We all have to work through our issues, but avoiding him isn’t going to make it less awkward. Pull off the damn bandaid.”
From the other side of the table, Mirabel had simply given him the world’s most pained-looking smile and a thumbs up.
Camilo knew this couldn’t go on forever. It was now or never.

Summary
“You can’t always make people smile, manito,” Dolores tells him while gently stroking his curls. “Sometimes, they need to be sad. Like you are right now.”
“No, I’m not,” Camilo says, sniffing.
“Yes, you are.”
“No, I’m not!” Squirming, Camilo tightens his small hands into fists and inhales deeply, just like Pepa has taught them. “Clear skies, clear skies. See!” -

Summary
Camilo barely has the chance to process someone has called his name before he’s being wrapped up in all so familiar arms. If he wasn’t so tired he would have claimed he didn’t immediately sink into the warmth they provided, if he wasn’t so tired he would have pulled back after a few seconds with a joke about being clingy. He wouldn’t be nuzzling closer so out in the open, he wouldn’t let out the pitiful mumble in reply that tumbles out of his mouth.
“Mami.”
For a moment, he forgets his hunger. For a moment, sleep sounds so, so tempting. For a moment he swears his head feels filled with cotton and his body lighter. Only for a moment.

A collection of one-shots and drabbles taking place within or adjacent to the storyline of my first work, To Extinguish the Sun. Many of these will be either deleted scenes that didn't make it into the finished work, AU/what-if scenarios, or concepts requested by readers.
Highly recommend reading To Extinguish the Sun first to understand context!

Summary
“Listen to me son, “ Félix started, sitting down beside his son. “I have a very important question to ask you, and please think carefully about your answer, “ he said, placing a hand on Camilo’s shoulder giving it a gentle squeeze. Do you love this woman? “ he asked.
“Yes,“ Camilo answered honestly. “But she hates me,“ he said, with a tinge of sadness in his voice. “And it’s all my fault, how could I be so stupid?“ Camilo sighed, turning his head to look at his father.
“Son, she doesn't hate you, she is just hurt and confused. I’m sure if you just go and see her, you guys can talk it out.“
“That’s the problem,“ the shapeshifter said, with a sad smile. “I don't know where she is. She left Encanto two nights ago. “
“Then you better find her son and bring her home, because if you don’t, you will live a life of regrets, always wondering what would have happened if you had.“
