His body was scarred all around, blood was slowly gushing out of the wound on his stomach, his sword was out of his reach. He heaved his breath as he knelt on the ground. The gigantic Lynel was slowly walking towards him, holding its frightening sword on its hand.
He looked defeated, but the look he gave the monster ahead of him was not a defeated one.
He shouldn’t, no, he can’t die now. Not when he still had an important duty to do. Not when everyone is depending on him to finish a century-old misery. Not when he was given a second chance…
He used all his might to stand on his feet, challenging the Lynel. If Lynels could laugh, this one would laugh right here, right now. It would laugh because of the stupidity it saw on the Hylian in front of it.
He took the fallen sword and gripped it as tight as it can, looking at the Lynel in the eyes. He had the nerve to smirk when the Lynel looked at him angrily.
As the Lynel ran towards him, he stood on his ground, and could only think:
“If only she was here."

Summary
Calamity Ganon has just been sealed, and Zelda is trying to figure Link out. Just how long did it take for him to get to her? Does he really remember her? Did he help the people of Hyrule on his way?
Well, Link was in a hurry. He freed the Divine Beasts, he became as strong as he could, but he hasn't fulfilled many of the side quests. He didn't want to keep Zelda waiting.
Now that she's safe, Link and Zelda will travel the land to assistance the people of Hyrule, and recruiting the help of others to restore Hyrule to its former glory.
The inspiration is I want a simulation game where Link and Zelda fix stuff up... but Nintendo wouldn't make that. So I am :+)

A Breath of the Wild AU Post Calamity-Ganon story where not just King Rhoam and the Champions had fallen over a hundred years ago, but also Impa, Purah, Robbie, Kohga, and Sooga as well. Upon given a blessing from Hylia presumably at life once more, they find Hyrule has changed massively since the Calamity. After rushing Link and these unknown people to Kakariko Village for medical treatment... With the help of Terrako's memories and several recordings from the Sheikah Slate, Zelda, the Champions, and many others will be able to watch snippets of Link's journey, learning about these unfamiliar faces, who they were, why they traveled with Link... and... see just how much Link has changed from the stoic, silent knight they had known a hundred years ago. -
