3 Works in Blow-Up (1966)
"Your masterpiece," Thomas says, and Bill can't tell if he's being sarcastic or not, "Abstract still-life including photographer. Mixed-media." Written for the "wet and messy" prompt for kink_bingo 2010.
It's only what he photographs that's real--or only what he photographs that's unreal enough that it's all right.
You can't contain human relationships in a photograph. You can't tell a life story in a linear fashion. Interpretation makes all the difference. Maybe Thomas/Bill, maybe Thomas/Patricia, almost certainly Bill/Patricia, and Thomas/Bill/Patricia if that happened at all.
