The bartender gave him a stony look. Chastened, he ducked down and hastily ran through his options. He could stick this out, ask for a coke or water, or he could make a retreat and hope the bartender forgot him in the crush of a people. It was a Friday night at the beginning of summer, lots of new faces from the influx of tourists and summer weekenders. Before he could decide, a new voice spoke up next to his ear.
“Hey, there you are.”
He turned and barely registered the hot jock he’d been ogling from across the room before said hot jock had a tongue pushed into his mouth. He froze for a moment before instinct kicked in and he kissed back. All in all, he didn’t think he did a great job in kissing back but he blamed that on how possessive the jock was of the whole thing.

“Great,” he muttered to himself, pulling up the thin sheer of his shirt to get a better look at the deep purple bruise that was forming across his ribs. The trick had hit him hard enough that a couple of those ribs were probably broken, and that was really the last thing he needed because he didn't have enough money for the rent, let alone a trip to the clinic for some x-rays.
