"Breaking someone's trust is like crumpling up a perfect piece of paper. You can smooth it over but it will never be the same again" -- Unknown

Izuku Midoriya's Quirk was...dangerous. Since the age of four he knew what true nightmares were made of. Demons were the soldiers of hell, and they made it their mission to terrify him for fun. Peeling skin, black sillouhettes, and grating screams that froze him in place where only a part of it. Their words and dark hymns followed him, crushing his body and soul.
But not as much as his mother did. Inko was prone to using her fists and venomous words to beat him down, and she was worse than the demons who followed him day and night.
"God does not shine upon you,"
The demons repeated it like a mantra, and they were all right. God hated them all, the fallen wingless angels who he damned for eternity. He loathed Izuku too, the boy who could see them. Izuku was cursed with an uncontrollable Quirk, but he tamed those demons. They were his, and his alone.
God sneered at him, and he smiled devilishly back. God had given the demons exactly what they needed...
Izuku Midoriya. A King.

The first time it happened, Katsuki should have been afraid. He should have screamed, ran, tore at his eyes until they bled. He should have fallen on his ass and soiled himself in fear. He should’ve, he should’ve, he should’ve.
But, he didn’t. He froze, not in fear but in awe. His eyes lit up in adoration. An astounded smile, soft and small but steadily growing, chased away the frown lines between his brows. He leaned closer to the storm of destruction in desperation to close the distance.
Black, miasmic clouds wisped around Izuku. Bones and rot surrounded him and the harsh light of the summer sun seemed to transform to palid, muted tones when it landed on his deathly skin. His eyes glowed toxic green.
Or the one where Izuku and Bakugou learn that with great power comes fucking annoying problems and adopt two dysfunctional ki—friends on their way to rock the foundations of the world.

Izuku Midoriya never asked for this. All he wanted to do was get up, grab his coffee, go to work, and watch Netflix. Well, maybe not the work part, but everything else was cool. Sadly, the universe had different plans for him, which included an explosive blonde, a lot of driving, and a need to save the world. Now Izuku didn’t exactly read the fine print of his contract when he was hired by the Center for Quirk Control, but he was pretty sure that being a hero was not in his job description.
Go beyond? Yeah, if only he knew how.
(Or: In a world with disappearing quirks, Izuku, a government employee, and the recently captured Lord Explosion Murder are forced to team up in order to stop a coup of Japan by the League of Villains. More than just their lives are on the line and teamwork is the name of the game, but how can two people so seemily different from eachother ever hope to accomplish such a task?)

"Shoto you should be more careful, you almost ran into the table."
"Sorry Mama, but I didn't see it there."
Shoto Todoroki was going blind at age three. How would this affect his future?
