Summary
This is based off a fan theory that Ty Lee is a defendant of airbenders, so that being said I’ve conjured up a fanfiction where SHE’S the avatar and Aangs an airbender. He was never seen as the avatar but he was still lost in the iceberg. He is a master airbender, and Ty Lee has the same backstory, except she has known she was the avatar for a while and just hid it from everyone she knew including her parents.

Summary
The Southern Water Tribe Genocide (c. 93 AG) was one of the Fire Nations' most egregious crimes, the sole survivor was the chief's only daughter, Katara. Later she'd be known as Princess Katara, Master Katara, and Queen Consort Katara, the storm that ends droughts, helping to bring peace and prosperity to all the world.
::::::::::
Katara is 8 when her life is torn to pieces. Brought to live in the Fire Nation as royalty she learns to live there and accept it as her home, coming to care for the country and its people and even some of the royals she thought she hated so much. But then the Avatar returns and once again, she leaves everything she's known behind to start a new life. As she meets new friends, reunites with those she used to know, and finds new love in old places, Katara must learn what it means to be water when you're constantly changing forms.

Summary
Katara sits on her throne, draped in fire nation red and gold with hints of her beloved water tribe blue as her council members argue about the issue of the week. She turns to look at Zuko who’s equally well dressed and looks equally done with the situation and the exact same thought passes between them “we should’ve ran away when they had the chance.”
or: Katara wins the last Agni Kai on a technicality and now she’s ruling a nation, Zuko’s nation, to be specific. Life never did like making things easy for them.

Summary
As the eldest son of the chieftain he was tasked with protecting the village when his father left to aid in the war. As an older brother, he has to take care of his younger siblings Sokka and Katara. After their mother was killed, too much changed. He didn't have time for fun and games with war on their borders. To keep his remaining family safe he had to close off his heart and train relentlessly for the battle he knew they'd face eventually. The Avatar wasn't coming back. Or at least, that's what Ayaan thought, until a bald kid with blue arrows showed up.

Summary
Follows Zuko's journey as he tries to integrate into to gaang starting with the Western Air Temple. Stayed very loyal to the show timeline with some obvious embellishments. This is a precursor to my later series with lots of relationship details that might be helpful for my later series when Zukka is full force!

Summary
After his duel, Zuko had fled to the Earth Kingdom where he has been living for the past 3 years, living as a farmer and a healer after being adopted by a nice Earth Kingdom family, presumed dead by the Fire Nation when disappearing while injured, giving Iroh a chance to keep Azula from staying loyal to her father. Given a chance to heal & find people who genuinely care about him with no ties or loyalty to his father, he is able to be saved from growing bitter and jaded after years of failing at a mission. Using his alias as The Blue Spirit as a healer who has learned to use firebending to heal as opposed to as a thief and assassin, he is able to influence views on firebending from both the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes as wells as firebenders themselves. He comes across the Gaang in the harbor town he has been living in, connecting with them as a healer who still remembers how to fight from what his life used to be, joining their cause before they even reach the Northern Water Tribe.
This is a series, I have posted a summary at the end of the 1st part if you don't want to read Zuko's recovery arc. I would suggest reading it, but it isn't plot heavy and I'm not here to tell you how to live your life.

Summary
She smiles over her shoulder at him, small and commiserate and that’s when he realizes that she is bare-armed and garbed in Water Tribe blue. Washed in full-moon glory with the sea spread at her feet she is, quite literally, in her element. He thinks of Yohn Rah, the rain caught in midair, suspended like glass, nature nor gravity no match for her. He thinks of that ship, the sickening way the captain’s body had moved, utterly at her whim.
He thinks that here, ankle-deep in the ocean, under the white mantle of the moon, she could do anything. Could be as glorious and terrifying as a monsoon and his heart is racing at the thought, but not in fear. Oh no, fear would be far, far simpler.
(collection of Book Three missing scenes until we swerve off into post-canon, canon-divergent goodness. unbeta-ed.)

Summary
In a world dominated by mega-corporations with private militaries, the Phoenix Defense Alliance fights on behalf of the oppressed underclass. Up against the formidable Ozai Industries, the Alliance has engineered a new technology: a mecha that requires two pilots to operate in perfect harmony. Fiercely independent Katara doesn't seem like the obvious choice for the program until a series of tests result in the discovery that one of the Defense Alliance's newest acquisitions just might be her perfect match. The only problem? He's an arrogant pretty-boy, a huge jerk...oh, and he's Ozai's renegade son. Will either of them be willing to let the other inside their head in order to save the world? And what happens when they realize they might be a perfect match in more ways than one?

"Water is the element of change. The people of the Water Tribes are capable of adapting to many things. They have a sense of community and love that holds them together through anything. Fire is the element of Power. The people of the Fire Nation have desire and will and the energy and drive to achieve what they want. Earth is the element of substance. The people of the Earth Kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring. Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly concerns and found peace and freedom." -Iroh

Summary
Decisions make the world we live in. In this world Hakoda and Kya decided not to try to protect their daughter in the tribe, but to send her away for her own safety to the North Pole. Here Iroh decides not to stand by as he sees what his brother's rule is doing not only to the fire nation but his family as well. Here the war ends early, with the fire nation cemented as the dominant power in the world. Here Lu Ten meets a little Whirlpool and decides that the Fire Nation has been wrong. Here the Volcano that killed Avatar Roku erupted 2 years later. Here Aang isn't woken by Katara so when will he be and what world will he awaken to?
AN: Lu Ten accidentally became a main character...whoops?
