Dream used to love badminton, from the scorching satisfaction when he managed to hit the shuttle right to the line, to the accomplishing burn in his lungs when he managed to win a point after running an entire marathon around the rectangular court, Dream loved every second of it. The highs, the lows, everything.
One and half years after winning bronze at the Olympics at only sixteen, Dream was on track for every gold he set his sights on as he went undefeated in the court. That was until… he wasn’t. A damaged wrist snapped his career in half within an instant, a lifetime of hard work just gone.

“That’s what I thought,” Akaza said finally.
Kyojuro stood silently, waiting until Akaza had rounded a corner and left his sight before he tested his theory.
“I don’t not like you,” he whispered to himself, and just as he’d feared, the words came easily.
