Alphinaud had never been to a club venue nor shown any interest before. Brunnera was afraid that her actions from the day before – that is, punching his father– would have made it that much more unlikely that he would accept the invitation.
To everyone’s surprise, Alphinaud accepts the invite, seemingly in a rebellious mood. With everything that had just happened, even he was inclined to let go a little.
Wherein a stressed and newly disowned Alphinaud goes clubbing with Brunnera, Alisaie and Lunette. There's awkward twin dancing, Alphinaud getting teased and sneaky make out sessions in the bathroom. Mostly wholesome but has a little bit of spice.Alphinaud takes in the absolute peace dominating his mind. He loves the muffled music, the cold glass pressing against his palm, the weightlessness of his shoulders, the shape of the breast he is cupping in his other hand. Such freedom allowed him to pretend he led a normal life. Not the son of a prestigious family, not a Scion. Just a man who really wanted to fuck the love of his life in a club bathroom.

Ever since his sister and the WOL became a couple, Alphinaud is envious as well as confounded by it. He thought he had little interest in romance as he was far too busy to contemplate being involved with anyone outside his circle of friends. He has always informed the couple he had no interest in two of the men that were former Scions, and he meant it. They were comrades, friends and brothers, not potential romantic liaisons. Now, with his sister and dear friend off on a much deserved respite, he is alone. Never in his imagines had he believed he would find himself intrigued by someone such the Midlander Hyur, Osamu Black, historian. The man was gruff, this side of rude, and probably the most interesting person he has come across in a while. He also had a gift, similar to the Echo, that allowed him to wittiness important events and record them. This, in and of itself, intrigued the young man. What Alphinaud had not pondered was all the other emotions that fell upon him. For a young Elezen who is basically clueless about romance, the very idea was baffling. What was a sage to do with something he has never experience before? It was unfamiliar territory for him.

Reader-inserted Warrior of Light is on a normal excursion through Amh-Araeng when she gets an unfortunate but nonfatal wound. While healing, the Scions band together to figure out what to do about your broken canteen, the distinct lack of water inside of it, and the fact that you haven't drank anything you didn't attain yourself since "The One Where WoL Is Poisoned" in Ishgard. Heavy in spoilers for Heavensward through Shadowbringers, takes place in the latter. There's also a bit of steam. And I'm not talking about the abandoned golems. ;)
