Summary
“You’re in love with my daughter,” Abe said. It wasn’t a question.
Lenny flicked the lighter shut and shrugged. “She’s my friend.”
“You’re in love with my daughter,” he repeated.
“I’m not trying to marry her, if that’s what you’re worried about,” Lenny took a drag of his cigarette, arms coming around himself like he was exposed and always, always trying to make a joke out of something.
When Susie collapses during a set, Midge is terrifyingly unshaken. She seems to barely notice, acting as if nothing is wrong despite everyone knowing it is. When she tells her father she plans to do another routine the next night rather than visit Susie in hospital, Abe decides to call a friend.

Summary
"Susie, I'm pregnant."
"By who? Your loser ex-husband?"
"No by my pissed off, broken hearted ex-fiancé."After being kicked out of the international portion of the tour by Shy, Midge Maisel finds herself alone, drunk, and covered in leftover pretzels. She finds herself standing in front of Benjamin's apartment and in a moment of weakness they sleep together. Three weeks later Midge finds herself in a familiar position huddled over a toilet and reminiscing over bad decisions. Now she has to juggle her possibly destroyed career, her volatile parents, and an unwanted and expected pregnancy.
Oh, and she hasn't told Benjamin yet.

Summary
“I don’t believe in them anymore, if I ever did” Abe concluded, using Lenny’s words. Finding something like understanding with a profanity-laced comic wasn’t how he’d predicted his night; finding understanding with a man Midge was dating even less so, but somehow this man, this comic, risked freedom to share his voice. What he did mattered enough to fight for it. Abe remembered feeling like he was something like that. “I wasn’t always a two-sweater man.”
“Well sometimes it’s cold.” Lenny offered with a shrug.
Abe gave a short chuckle at the simplicity before he looked down at his two sweaters. “They are very soft,” he lamented, fingering the fabric of the cardigan. He sighed. “I used to march. I unionised. I cared. I wore turtle-necks in Paris!” he boasted with a turn towards Lenny again. “I’m trying to find that part of myself again,” he explained, a feeling of wanting to present himself well to this person who knew what he cared about, and gave it everything he had, moving him to talk.
