Summary
It takes Sprite a little more than a hundred years to grow tired of her age.
At first, everything is fine; there are plenty of actual children around that she can interact with and get to know, that she can relate to. But one by one they always outgrow her. As is the way with humans, they grow up and leave their childish things behind, get themselves jobs and families and move on. And then they die, which Sprite never wants to stick around to see but always ends up getting dragged into.
She runs all the way to Ajak, who she hasn’t seen in nearly a hundred years, and cries in her arms like the child that she is.

Summary
There is a chance — a chance — that death does not have to be the end. Not for Gilgamesh.
If she has to, Thena will tear the universe apart to save him.
He would do the same for me.

Summary
There is a moment, when Thena is fighting, where she considers giving up. Giving in. Letting it consume her as it has her friends, letting it suck out everything in her until her body is nothing but a shell; perhaps if she is very lucky then it will assimilate her Mahd Wy-ry, too, and turn on its own kind.
There is a moment where she thinks that life has no meaning to her if Gilgamesh is not in it.
She does not give in.

Summary
Kingo is observant; he pays attention. He loves his friends and tries to be aware of what is going on in their lives - and sometimes to deflect the others attention away from them if necessary.
He is probably the only person who has figured out that Sprite is in love with Ikaris.

Summary
Sprite knows the sort of stories that James loves; he’s the reason that she has stuck around in Scotland for as long as she has (it’s been nearly six months now.) But she had witnessed little James telling stories to the other children in the back gardens, and had been captivated by his tales in a way that she had never experienced before.
(Or, Sprite telling stories to someone who will wholly appreciate them.)
