Summary
“Why are we doing this?” Bucky asks for the hundredth time. A strand of hair has fallen out of his bun, and he blows hard in an attempt to get it out of his eyes to no avail.
Steve reaches over with the hand that isn’t splotched with paint to tuck the hair behind the other alpha’s ear, and he’s rewarded with a smile that’s simultaneously grateful and annoyed.
“We’re proving a point.”

Summary
“Are you honestly telling me that it doesn’t bother you?” Tony gestures across the dining hall, where Steve is currently chatting with Maria Hill like they’re the best of friends. He’s laughing at something she said, head tossed back and his eyes doing that crinkling thing around the corners.
Bucky looks over and stares at the pair with a forlorn expression, sighing as Steve laughs even louder at whatever she says next. “Alright, yeah, I hate her, too.”

“You’re actually hiring me after that?” Tony asks, the disbelief clear in his watery brown eyes.
Steve shrugs, “Gotta start somewhere, right? And if you’re terrible, it’s not like I can’t fire you.”

Summary
Tony spends most of his day waiting for the moment he can return to his bedroom. When he opens the door, Steve is there, sitting on the edge of his bed and leaning back on his elbows. His shoes and socks have been discarded already, tucked neatly against the far wall, and the top two buttons of his shirt are undone. The deep red of his sheets is a sharp contrast against Steve’s fair complexion, and Tony would be lying if he said that wasn’t why he likes the color so much. He looks up with a brilliant smile, and Tony feels something inside of him settle.

“What’s in the bag?”
Instead of answering, Tony walks them over to the couch and drops Steve down before sitting next to him. He hands the bag over, and his cheeks turn pink when Steve opens it.
“Oh.”
“Yeah, I, um, figured we should be prepared,” Tony explains, biting anxiously at his lip and his eyes darting around the room. “I didn’t know what you’d prefer, so I might have gone a little overboard. Definitely got some weird looks from the cashier.”
Steve pulls out one of the many bottles of lube, ignoring the condoms for now. “This one is strawberry flavored.”

“Give me my hoodie back, you gremlin.”
“It’s not yours anymore,” Tony says, rolling over to mash his face into the pillow. The blanket slips down to reveal a shirt that Bucky last remembers seeing over a month ago. “You lost your rights to it when you left it on my side of the room.”
Alternately, Tony's a terrible roommate, Bucky is annoyed, and somehow they fall in love.

Steve sighs, “With the way the serum made me look and the strength it gave me, I know you were expecting me to be, I don’t know, more dominant in bed, I guess. And I know it’s a fair assumption, I’m not saying it isn’t, but it’s not really true.”
Tony is grateful that Steve can’t see his face right now, because he can’t mask the utter surprise on it when it finally clicks.
“Oh,” Tony says. “Oh, that’s - oh.”

Summary
“So this is definitely one of the strangest situations I’ve ever been in,” Tony says, plopping down on the hard tile floor.
“One of?” Steve asks with raised eyebrows. “It’s troubling that you can’t lie to me right now, and yet you still aren’t saying it’s the worst.”
“Because it isn’t the worst,” Tony says simply, the honesty spilling out of him so easily even though he hates the way it feels on his tongue. “I wouldn’t even call it one of the worst. Doesn’t even crack the top five on that one, and please, don’t ask, because that’s a list I don’t want to say and you don’t want to hear. But strangest? It’s up there for sure.”

Summary
“So things were good?” Tony asks hesitantly. It was the first time Steve has been alone with Peter for more than five minutes since the start of their relationship eight months ago, and he wasn’t really sure if they were ready for that yet. The gala forced his hand though, as his usual babysitter couldn’t make it and everyone else had to be in attendance at the same event. He was intending just to skip it when Steve offered to look after him for the night.
“Things were good,” Steve confirms. “We had grilled cheese, colored together, played with legos, then we watched Finding Nemo, and he handed me a tissue when I cried.”

Summary
Bucky sits up on his elbows in the bed to watch Tony pull his boxer briefs back on. His muscles ache at the movement, and he stretches out each one of his arms again. Tony’s undershirt goes on next, and he’s reaching for the charcoal slacks as Bucky asks as casually as possible, “So when do you need me next?”
“I actually wanted to talk to you about that," Tony says. “I think it might be time to put an end to our arrangement.”

Summary
“She’s just a friend, you know,” Natasha says, and Steve nods. He does know, because Tony told him himself a few days ago, then again tonight when he introduced her to everyone. But his hand was on her lower back, and hers was on his arm, and they were both smiling and so clearly familiar with each other that it didn’t matter that they’ve known each other since they were kids. All Steve could see was that someone else was Tony’s date for a gala he didn’t even want to come to in the first place, making the whole night that much more miserable for it.

“Alright, your mission for today is to find the cutest man here and bring him back to me. Think twenties or early thirties with dark hair. No one with an ugly dog, though. It shows bad judgment, and that’s not what we want. Can you do this for me?”
Nala thumps her tail against the grass, practically vibrating with the excitement of being allowed to run free, even though she won’t use it to go very far.
“So are you really using your dog to find you a date?”

Summary
It’s a Thursday, the first time that Tony walks into Steve’s tattoo parlor. Steve is behind the counter, passing the time between appointments by filling his sketchbook with new designs and reworks of older ones. He glances up at the chime on the door and has a welcome greeting on the tip of his tongue that dies at the sight of him.
He’s young, and if Steve had to guess he’s probably never been in a tattoo parlor before today, if the nervous look is anything to go by. His hair is dark and messy, falling in every direction as he takes a knitted hat off of his head and stuffs it in his pocket, while wide brown eyes look around at the designs on the walls.

Summary
Steve flips channels mindlessly for a while, seeing flashes of dark water every time the screen goes black in between the changing images. After a while, he settles for a rerun of some sitcom he was in the ice for originally. He doesn’t know the characters, and he forces himself to focus on trying to understand the plot so that he can’t think of anything else. That’s probably why he doesn’t notice that he isn’t alone anymore until a hand is on his shoulder. Steve reaches up on instinct to grab at the other person’s wrist, jumping up from the couch.
“Oh, shit, sorry,” they say, and Steve knows that voice, though he’s having trouble placing it. “Didn’t mean to scare you.”
Oh, Tony, Steve thinks, and relief floods his veins.

Summary
Steve is complete putty under Tony’s hands most of the time. From the moment his back hits the mattress, he’s pliable and eager to please. It’s nothing Tony ever imagined from him, but he loves the sight like none other.
Like this, though, after Tony has just finished wringing his fifth consecutive orgasm from him and is working on the sixth, he’s practically boneless. He hardly has the energy left to lift his hips from the bed and just takes everything Tony has to give him. His hands clutch loosely at the bedsheets, and his eyes have been shut for the entirety of the last two.

Summary
Steve has had a plan for April fifteenth for months now. He’s finally back in New York tonight, officially done with the semester abroad in London that he and Natasha started in January. He loved England, but after months of conversations through text and brief phone calls alone, he just wants the taxi from the airport to drive faster to take him back home. Back to Tony, who Steve has been in love with for the better part of four years and is finally ready to tell how he feels.

Summary
Tony flops back against the bed, sweat coating his skin and making him shiver as it cools. His heart is racing, breath coming in short pants, and his muscles couldn’t move again even if he tried. He’s also never felt more satisfied in his life.
Steve’s hand slides upward on his stomach, drifting towards his chest to settle on top of the arc reactor. His head lands on Tony’s shoulder a moment later, and he looks up with a fond, dopey smile.
“Do you want to hear my next idea?” he asks, and Tony groans as his exhausted body gives a valiant attempt at getting ready to go again. Turning his head, Steve presses a kiss to Tony’s shoulder and grins. “I think you’re going to like it.”

Summary
In retrospect, Steve can admit that he overreacted to the entire situation. His only defense is that he was already stressed out by the bad grade he got on his art project. It’s weak, he recognizes, but he worked really hard on that project and Professor Hill called it “contrived” and “unnecessarily complex.” He was fuming by the time he walked out her office, having failed at arguing for a better grade, and getting freezing cold coffee spilled on him was really the icing on the top of the world’s worst cake. Can he really be blamed for blowing up on the guy?
(Yes, he’ll admit later, he can. But not now.)

Summary
“I’m dying.”
Tony lifts his head from the arm of the couch to peer over the top of his laptop screen. Steve is in the doorway of their living room, a crumpled tissue in his hand and the redness of his nose visible even from a distance. He looks miserable, just like every other day this week, and he’s swimming in one of Tony’s old hoodies.
“What’s up Typhoid Steve?”
Steve’s pout intensifies at that, and it’s everything in Tony not to laugh. He comes further into the room, and Tony moves his laptop onto the floor so that Steve can ungracefully crumple into a lump on top of him. “Don’t be mean to me,” Steve complains into Tony’s t-shirt, face smushed into his chest. “I’m dying.”

Bucky closes the bedroom door back behind him quietly, the sounds of his sisters’ laughter disappearing behind it. “Well, I think it’s safe to say that went well, right?”

Summary
Contrary to popular belief, Tony hasn’t done this before. He knows his own reputation, has enough self-awareness to recognize that not one single person would be surprised to find out he was doing this tonight, but all of them would be surprised to hear it was the first time. When you build a persona around being the charming playboy, paying for sex doesn’t seem too far off.
It’s definitely not the other guy’s first time being paid for it, though. There’s an easy energy about him as he casually looks around the penthouse between sips of the scotch in his hand. Tony wonders if he’s even drinking it at all, though, because the line of liquid never seems to go down no matter how many times he brings the glass to his lips. Either way he’s good at faking the nonchalance.
