Heaven on earth (with a little bit of hell)
Heavenly creatures that have one purpose and one purpose only and it's to keep peace on earth, keep an eye on the humans. Maintain the balance between good and bad, keep the darkness at bay and always one step ahead to prevent any trouble.
But above all, be the dutiful soldiers that they were created for.
And as the dutiful son and soldier that he was, his main priority was his brother Raphael, to never let him down and help him ever in whatever he needed. So, when a human gets in the middle of his brother's happiness, it's up to Magnus to fix that, leading him to meet a demon.
It's all downhill from there.
"I want to offer you a deal. No expiration date" Alexander replied. Magnus didn't ignore how his eyes traveled from his eyes, his nose, lingered on his lips and were back to his eyes.
Funny because "deals" were the one thing that got him into this mess. He shook his head. "I'm going to politely decline."
Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Decline? Come on, Magnus. It's not like you didn't enjoy it the last time."
"That's the point. Last time. A one-time thing only. I wasn't planning on repeating it again." Much to his dismay, of course. He needed to keep himself in check. "I'm sure you can find someone else that can please you."
Alexander nodded. "That's true. I mean, I could have whoever I wanted and yet," he moved forward, a breath of distance between them, "why would I want a simple human when I can be with an angel? And who I know is willing to sin."
"There's a rumor."
Magnus stopped dead in his tracks. After that spectacle, the only thing in his mind was Alexander, as weird as that sounded. What he had with the demon was easy, no complications whatsoever. It was better than to staying in home, for sure.
"You are seeing someone on Earth" Ragnor continued, "and that's why you spend more time down there."
Magnus took a deep breath and turned around. Was he so easy to follow? Maybe he wasn't as careful as he thought he was. But he wasn't going to expose himself.
"Were you going to tell me?"
"Eventually" Magnus replied at last.
Ragnor nodded, not looking convinced. He stepped forward, closer to Magnus. "Is it desire what you're seeking? Is it worth it?"
Magnus averted his gaze; truthfully, he didn't know what he was looking for, just that he enjoyed it and was it so bad to feel good about something?
"I hope you know what you're doing, Magnus, that it's worth it."
Magnus looked up just to see Ragnor's retreating frame with some last words.
"Take it from Valentine."
Magnus is an angel, the best of his kind, if he says so himself, trying to live up is father expectations and comply to every duty that comes with his nature: from keeping the humans away from harm to prevent any bloodshed. Not the job he wants but it's his duty and he will fulfill it.
Alec is a demon. He likes everything that comes with it, from the smallest deals to the soul-bond favors that last years. He's been away from hell making deals here, chaos over there, fulfilling every desire the humans have, a luxurious life. All in all, it was good.
They go way back, years of knowing each other, on and off. They don't know if they are friends, acquaintances, or they hate each other, maybe just fuckbuddies because they are bored. It's all blurred lines by now.
Magnus is fine with it, it doesn't mean anything. So why would he care if his father ban him from seeing Alexander again?
