Shadowhunters Spring Fling
The Shadowhunters Spring Fling collection is a collaboration of content based around Spring time and the romantic (canon and non-canon) relationships in Shadowhunters.
Alexander Lightwood is happy. He has a stable job, loving family and is a father to a 7-year-old Ben - a boy with wild imagination. His life feels complete and he doesn’t wish to change it.
Enters Magnus Bane. His second bakery has just opened in Prospect Park, next to the path Alec and his son take to school every morning. He is energetic and a true match for Ben’s creativeness. As the three grow closer Alec and Magnus have to decide what to do with the connection neither of them expected to form.
"Spring sucks ass."
A strongly expressed distaste for the season sparks an online conversation between teens Magnus and Alec, until then oblivious to each other’s existence. While a friendship blossoms and deeper feelings might be budding, spring is also known for its impetuous and changeable temper. For some it is the season of hope and new beginnings. For others, the absence of exactly that can come into stark relief compared to the sudden upsurge of color and life around.
Spring flowers bloom fast, but wilt even faster. Is this connection something that can outlive the season?

On his first day of Spring Break in Madrid, Alec noticed a beautiful man by the pool and it didn’t take long before he found out that Pool Stranger was just as interested. Will what they decide is just a quick spring fling end up being more?

“I don’t know if I can stand by and watch you in pain, Alec.” Magnus whispered.
“Magnus, please. Do this for me? I’m stronger this time.” He said as firmly as he could manage, even if he didn’t believe a word of it. “I’ve got you this time. I’ll be fine.”
Magnus’ eyes searched his face, seeking out any sign of doubt. Alec couldn’t honestly be sure that he’d find none because Magnus was the only thing keeping him from descending into the grips of fear at that moment.
“Please.” Alec repeated, knowing that if Magnus interfered in this then it would mean the end.
Alec is summoned to Idris for his Ascension Trial in which he will be psychologically tested before the Clave agrees to his appointment as Head of the Institute. That process involves monitored lucid dreaming whilst his worst fears are stimulated and he is more than a little nervous.
It can't possibly be any worse than last time though...
"Let's go to Fuchsia City, you said. It'll be fun, you said.” Alec glares at Izzy. “Look where that got us!"
He would die for his sister, but he won't sacrifice his pokemon for her unrelenting vendetta. It’s eight months since they deserted Team Rocket, and Alec understands Izzy’s need to right the mistakes they’ve made; he just doesn’t necessarily agree with her methods.
Magnus Bane has made it his mission in life to destroy Team Rocket, so he doesn’t hesitate to step in and defend two strangers when he sees they’re outnumbered and close to defeat.
He begins to regret his decision when he learns who they really are - Isabelle and Alexander Lightwood. He doesn’t want to work with anyone who was once a part of Team Rocket, but as that old saying goes, ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’. Still, Magnus wouldn’t go as far as to use the word friend.
